Everybody’s heard about the Pirate Bay ruling by now. There’s nothing I can add to everything that has been written so far other than to say that realistically it won’t have much impact. But my favorite take is Peter Kafka’s post in All Things Digital.

Great, Wayne!
I’ve just joined the club:
It is really hard to believe that people forget we were exchanging music tapes not so long ago…
I also think that ISP / Mobile companies should distribute the money we pay to the contents producers.
Michael Arrington from Techcrunch thinks we should even get paid for listening and recommending music…
#freepiratebay!
Cheers
Sorry- I thought this was about ABBA
The film and music industry have not handled this case so good. Of course can you say they have won in the first instance, but the case will for sure go all the way to the supreme court. This can take many years, and if the industry wins there they will not shut down the bay. They have servers in other countries.
One tactic has begun to arisen in the Nordic countries, and that is censorship of the net. The interest organizations are suing ISPs in hope to shut down the traffic to the bay.
In other words, the industry shows how silly they are. You can`t get a horse on the run back to the stable with a wip..
Wasn’t really their fault in a way though, was it?
